AOS, explained

Good questions. Useful answers.

How we work, what we can help with and where to start.

Working with AOS

What kinds of businesses does AOS work with?

AOS works with small and midsize businesses, including professional services firms. We help teams that need more stable IT, clearer control over technology, support for AI adoption or a focused software solution to a business problem.

Where does AOS provide service?

AOS is based at 189 South Service Road in Grimsby, Ontario. Our core service area runs from Toronto and the GTA through Hamilton to Niagara-on-the-Lake. We also work with businesses beyond this region, with on-site and remote support agreed for each engagement.

How do we get started with AOS?

Start with a scoping call. We discuss the challenge, the people and systems involved, and what a useful outcome would look like. From there, we agree a suitable next step, which may be a specific project, modernization work or ongoing support.

Can AOS work alongside our existing IT team?

Yes. AOS can support your current IT team, take responsibility for a specific project or become your outsourced IT team. The engagement follows the help you need, rather than requiring you to fit a rigid package.

How do existing customers get support?

Call AOS on 1 (877) 835-5756 or visit Get support. Have your company name, a description of the issue and any existing ticket reference ready. The Customer portal link will provide access when the new portal is available.

Do we need to choose a service package before contacting you?

No. Bring the business challenge first. AOS can scope a project, work alongside your team or provide ongoing support. The scope, responsibilities and cost are agreed around the engagement.

AI, security and control

Can AOS help with AI governance and compliance concerns?

Yes. We start by understanding the AI tools in use, the information they can reach and who is responsible for them. The work can include approved tools, managed AI environments, controlled data connections, access rules and human review. We scope the technical controls around your business requirements and the obligations you need to address.

We want to use AI but do not know where to start. Can you help?

Start with one task that would be useful to improve. AOS can help choose a suitable tool, identify the data it needs, establish who will own it and agree how to evaluate the result. An AOS-managed AI environment is one option; the platform follows the requirements.

How can we control which business data an AI tool can access?

Define the sources, users and actions the tool needs before connecting it. AOS can implement controlled connections, including MCP gateways or servers where appropriate, and tie access to managed identities. Review points are part of the design when an automation needs to take action in another system.

What does an identity-first approach mean for our IT?

An identity-first approach ties access to managed user identities, with technologies such as single sign-on connecting the applications people use. AOS combines that work with device and network controls. Modernizing legacy systems can make onboarding, offboarding and technology governance easier to manage.

Services in practice

Do you manage cloud systems as well as on-premises infrastructure?

Yes. AOS supports cloud compute, on-premises servers, networks, Wi-Fi and office infrastructure. We can help modernize, centralize or maintain the systems your business needs, including the infrastructure work involved in an office move.

What is a micro app?

A micro app is a lean software solution for a specific business task. It can be a background automation or an application with a simple interface. Examples include routing incoming information and a time-tracking tool for an accounting firm, built on a shared foundation for authentication, security and deployment.

Who maintains a micro app after it is built?

AOS offers managed hosting with support responsibilities agreed in the contract. Hosting, service levels, the supported lifetime of the app and the scope of maintenance are defined for the engagement. Additional features and changes are scoped separately.

Does AOS still provide managed print and printer support?

Yes. Managed print remains part of AOS. We help with print equipment, document workflows, supplies and hands-on maintenance, including on-site printer repairs. Print can be supported alongside the rest of your workplace technology.

Can AOS help with business communications and mobile handsets?

AOS supports business phone systems, collaboration tools and technology for shared spaces. Managed handsets and mobile connectivity are provided through AOS Mobility. We can include these needs in a wider discussion about how your team works.
